What is the NEF?
Northmont Education Foundation’s mission is to enhance the education of the students in the Northmont Community through grants and scholarships. We are a tax-exempt, non-profit organization created to provide private funds for the promotion of excellence in education within the Northmont City School District.
Our board consists of no more than 14 voting members and three permanent non-voting members. These non-voting members represent the Northmont Board of Education, Superintendent and the Alumni Association. The volunteer Trustees represent the community interests and seek to fulfill the mission of the foundation through community and donor interaction, focused program management, teacher and student support. We are a component fund of the Dayton Foundation, and while leadership of the NEF stays in our community, oversight of our funds lies within the Dayton Foundation.
Where does the money come from?
We rely on our community and past alumni to support the NEF through the following:
** Endowments
** Event Fundraising
** Annual giving campaign with teachers and alumni
It is through community support that the NEF continues to evolve and meet the needs of the students and staff of Northmont.
2020 Report to the Community
Establishing a Grant or Scholarship
Grants and scholarships can be created with any amount of money. You can start with as little or as much as you wish. Once the grant reaches $6,000 it is considered established and is available for distribution. Scholarships are very similar. Once $13,000 is reached, the distribution process begins. Creating a grant or scholarship is an ongoing process; as funds build, so do awarded amounts. Our donors have truly appreciated this opportunity to support students and community.Call 937-832-5002 if you would like to establish a grant or scholarship or make a donation.
Scores for Education
Scores for Education is supporting the foundation through athletic events. The pledged amount is donated for each home scored varsity football touchdown and varsity soccer goal through local area businesses.
