What Is The NEF?

Northmont Education Foundation's mission is to enhance the education of the students in the Northmont Community through grants and scholarships. We are a tax-exempt, non-profit organization created to provide private funds for the promotion of excellence in education within the Northmont City School District. Our board consists of no more than 14 voting members and three permanent non-voting members. These non-voting members represent the Northmont Board of Education, Superintendent and the Alumni Association. The volunteer Trustees represent the community interests and seek to fulfill the mission of the foundation through community and donor interaction, focused program management, teacher and student support. We are a component fund of the Dayton Foundation, and while leadership of the NEF stays in our community, oversight of our funds lies within the Dayton Foundation.

We rely on our community and past alumni to support the NEF through the following:

Endowments

Event Fundraisers

Annual Giving Campaign with teachers and alumni

It is through community support that the NEF continues to evolve and meet the needs of the students and staff of
Northmont.

2020 Report To The Community

The Northmont Education Foundation is proud to report that it awarded in grants and scholarships more than $97,000 in 2023.

NEF facilitated the Scholarship distribution for a total of over $62,700 in the spring of 2023.

For the 2023-2024 year, NEF successfully awarded grants for an amount exceeding $34,900. Our community should be extremely proud of the progress of the NEF. The NEF began in 1985 with a $1,000 donation from Emery Air Freight and now has grown to over a $2 million fund to support our students.

Thanks to the commitment of our community and hard work of the NEF board, our annual community auction raised over $23,000. It is through community support that the NEF can continue to support our students.

Over the past 30 years, through generous support like yours, named grants and scholarships honor community leaders and recognize graduates of Northmont High School.

Other ways to support the NEF include attending the Appreciation Breakfast in the fall and participating in our end-of-the-year annual giving campaign.

Establishing A Grant Or Scholarship

Grants and scholarships can be created with any amount of money. You can start with as little or as much as you wish. Once the grant reaches $6,000 it is considered established and is available for distribution. Scholarships are very similar. Once $13,000 is reached, the distribution process begins. Creating a grant or scholarship is an ongoing process; as funds build, so do awarded amounts. Our donors have truly appreciated this opportunity to support students and community. Call 937-832-5004 if you would like to establish a grant or scholarship or make a donation.

Scores For Education

Scores for Education is supporting the foundation through athletic events. Local area businesses pledge a $50 donation for each varsity home game football touchdown. Please help us thank Code Credit Union for their support for the 2019 season.
